DC360 members met with Matt Smith, Federal member for Leichhardt at Daintree Siesta in Diwan on 26th May 2025.
DC360 would like to acknowledge and thank Matt Smith and his assistant Hamish, for taking the time to come over the Daintree River to meet with group members and discuss a diverse range of issues unique to our community needs.
Topics discussed ranged from power concerns including micro-grid, solar and battery subsidies and rebates including for residential, grants, telecommunications issues, insurance problems, tourism concerns, buyback issues, air bnb's, roads, feral pigs and a number of other community issues.
The meeting was very short notice and we're hoping a broader community meeting could be organised in the future. Overall it was a very positive discussion.
